She Is Officially Ours!

Overall, Karlye is doing well!  She definitely continues to have moments of difficulty, but each hour gets better.  Her personality is blossoming with each moment and we fall in love with her more and more (if that is possible) each second!

She did great with the nannies and the director today!  The nannies and director were waiting for us when we arrived at the government office this morning.  They attempted to grab her and hold her, but she quickly turned around, hugged my neck, and refused to be held by them.  An ahh moment for sure!  They were actually very excited that she would not come to them, giving me a quick thumb's up!  They told us that they were very happy to be handing Karlye over to us!  What a great thing to hear from those that love her so much.

We will not be going to the orphanage on Thursday.  They are temporarily located in a hotel while they build a new orphanage building, so therefore there is no orphanage to visit.  They offered for us to come to the hotel.  We were a little disappointed that we could not go to the orphanage, but really did not want to drive 3 1/2 hours each way to see a hotel, so we opted out.  We did find out that Zhangjiagang, the city where she is from, is the richest city in China, so no wonder they are building a brand new orphanage!

I have attached lots of pictures, as I know this is what you all really want to see!

Loves the computer!

Fast asleep!

Trying to put the stacking cups in the correct order

  1. ok, how many times have you pinched each other to make sure this is real. It is an overwhelming joy, isn't it? The surrealness of it all will peak again when you walk in your front door of your house. Loving these pictures, and Jonah is thrilled as well to see Karlye in your arms!

  5. Bows, Bows, Bows!!! That's what we like to see!!! And Stacie...I don't know if your smile can get any larger in these pictures!!! Speaking of pictures...yes, keep them coming! So so so excited to hear that Karlye's bonding and attaching process drew her to you two, rather than to her nannies - God is so good....and it truly reflects the love she has experienced from the two of you in less than 24 hours. Karlye-girl - this love thing is just getting started! And speaking of LOVE, we LOVE you all. Soak up China and your little one....rejoicing things are going so well for you all! Hugs, Hugs, Hugs!!
