How Much Longer?

We have been waiting 3 weeks and 1 day (yes, that 1 day counts) for our Travel Approval (TA), which may not seem like a long time, but it has seemed like FOREVER to us.  I can't even begin to explain how tough this wait has been over the past few weeks.  It is so hard to understand what takes so long, when all we want to do is get on a plane to China and hold our precious daughter in our arms.  It is hard to be patient when we watch her grow up through pictures half way around the world.  It is so hard to be content sitting here in Alabama while she is waiting for her mommy and daddy to show her what love is.  It is so draining to wonder what our daughter is doing at each moment of the day.  Right now it feels like every second counts, and we just can't get there quick enough.

There is one thing that we can find peace in though, and that is that God's timing is perfect.  He knows that perfect moment when she will meet us, and we will meet her, and we must rest in this.  Knowing that His timing is perfect does not necessarily mean that it will be any easier, but there is peace in knowing this truth.  He is continuing to prepare Karlye's heart and our hearts for that moment when we will become a family.  God has proven to us time and time again throughout this journey that He knows best, and that His timing is perfect.

Thank you all for your prayers, emails, and phone calls over the past few weeks.  We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family.  Hopefully my next post will be to let everyone know some really good news!

  1. To use Dr. Platt's logic, "God is sovereign, but the Chinese government is absolutely at fault." So, we will trust His plan, but it is perfectly normal to be frustrated at governmental red tape. I SO wished that they cared about Karlye half as much as we all do. Praying for a breakthrough before the weekend... Hold on my friends. We love you guys!
