Last Day In Beijing

Ok, so I know everyone is ready for the "real" pictures after "Gotcha Day", but here is the last set of touring pictures.  We had a great day of touring today with beautiful and HOT weather!  Our biggest adventure of the day, well at least for me, was having to eat duck for lunch.  It actually wasn't that bad!  We have had an excellent time in Beijing, but we are so ready to get to Nanjing to meet Karlye!  Our bodies are well adjusted to the new time, and honestly it really hasn't been that difficult.  It really helped to have a free day to let our bodies slowly adjust.

Our flight leaves at 11:40 China time and our guide will meet us at the hotel around 9:00.  We will definitely miss her.  She has been wonderful!  Our flight arrives in Nanjing around 1:40 China time and our guide, arranged by Lifeline, will meet us at the airport to take us to our hotel.  We will spend the evening getting paperwork ready and items together for Karlye's "Gotcha Day"!!!  IT IS FINALLY HERE!!  Please continue to pray for sweet Karlye, as she will be leaving everything familiar to her in a matter of hours.  We will post to let everyone know that we made it to Nanjing, as long as everything continues to work with the Internet.  We will also let you know the time if the guide lets us know on Sunday.  The next pictures will be with the Berck Family of 3!

Here we come Karlye!!

  3. Morning (evening to you),

We have enjoyed the pictures so much. I am so happy that you have had this opportunity of a life time to see her country. In the days to come, you will then have the opportunity to do the same for her by showing her our country, very soon , to be her country.

As I posted on Facebook this morning, the journey began in June of 2010 without you knowing much about when, where or who. Now all those questions have been clearly answered. The journey to China for Karlye has been exciting, frustrating and wonderfully rewarding. Karlye is less than 48 hours away from you. I pray that God will continue to prepare your hearts for the miracle of this little girl in your lives. In God's infinite wisdom, He has created Karlye for you, and you for her. How awesome is that.

Your lifetime of responsibility for this precious child begins in just a few hours, your love for her began many months ago. Thank you both for your dedication to the completion of this journey. May God be honored for His love and grace.

  4. The pictures you have posted are great and what a beautiful city. How nice that your guides' name was so easy to remember, Michelle. Hehe. Have a safe flight on Sunday and am anxiously awaiting the pictures of the Berck 3!!!!! It is the highlight of my morning to open up this sight and look at the pictures and read your posts! The tears flowed this morning knowing you are just hours away from hugging and kissing your daughter and prayers will be sent to Karlye and you for a smooth transition as she adjusts to her new life with awesome and loving parents!! God be with you all! Love you guys and can't wait to see you soon, Aunt NeNe
