Shopping on Shamian Island!

We had a great day today!  We went to Shamian Island to do some shopping!  Nathan's poor wallet.  We bought some more fun stuff for Karlye.  A great friend of mine gave us the idea to buy some items here to give to Karlye along the years (Thanks Janie!).  We bought the pearls yesterday for her 16th birthday.  We bought a jade bracelet to give her when she is 10 years old.  Jade and pearls are very popular here in China.  We also bought her a jade pendant with the Chinese symbol for "daughter", but we are not sure what age we will give her that.  We bought a tea set, a Chinese parasol, some squeaky shoes for when she is older, and another larger Chinese silk dress.  What a fun day!

Tomorrow, we will have the oath taking and submit her visa documents at the US consulate!  She is getting closer and closer to becoming an American citizen!

No diarrhea today!  Hip Hip Hooray.  We have eaten in a different room than Karlye today so that she will not want any "real" food.  She has taken her formula nicely today with no difficulties.  We have also fed her some bland snacks.

Good to the last drop!

What a great idea to buy things for Karlye now to give to her later when she will understand the meaning of them and she will truly know how much she is loved and always was even when you were miles apart!! What great parents you are and thanking God for this beautiful union of Karlye and her parents!! Love you and miss you! Aunt NeNe
