| Proud Big Sister! |
We will call her Lucy! Lucy is 25 months old! She and Karlye are only 10 months apart! She is currently in an orphanage in the southern part of China. Her file states that she is shy, quiet, and an active little girl. Lucy has a diagnosis of a hemangioma (birthmark) on her right temple that is about the size of a quarter.
We got an email from our precious social worker on Monday night asking us to call her that evening. I was rocking Karlye and Nathan was still at work. By the time I could call Nathan about the email, he was already on the phone with her. I called her after Nathan got off the phone, and we wanted to see her file! We opened it together on the phone, as neither of us could wait 45 minutes until he got home to see her precious face. We knew immediately that God had blessed us with this little girl! We officially accepted her referral on Tuesday morning, November 6. We received "PA" (pre-approval) today and are currently waiting on "LOA" (letter of acceptance).
We are expected to travel to China approximately 3-6 months from now. It takes time to complete all the necessary paperwork before traveling to pick her up. There is a good chance that the time to travel will be closer to 3 months, as we have done much of the waiting before seeing her precious face. As we have been waiting, our paperwork has continued to make its way through the steps. We absolutely cannot wait to hold this precious little girl in our arms! We are able to send her a care package at this time, to begin establishing a relationship with her. Karlye is sleeping with Lucy's lovey and giving it plenty of love until it is time to put it in the box and send it to China.
Karlye is already such a proud big sister! She walks around the house calling her "My Lucy". She has Lucy's pictures taped to her crib and loves to take them down to look at them. We watched Karlye on the monitor at nap time, as she took Lucy's picture down and kissed it and put it back up. So sweet!
Thank you all so much for surrounding us in prayer throughout this journey. We would also like to thank our incredible social worker for her sweet spirit, countless hours, and her passion for the orphans of China. We are blessed beyond belief to have her as a part of our lives! Please continue to pray for us as we prepare for the arrival of our daughter, for Karlye as she transitions to being a big sister, and for Lucy as she is being prepared to leave everything familiar and join her forever family.
We love you all!

I am so, so excited for all you as you finally get to see Lucy's picture. She is just precious and I know that God is keeping her safe until she gets to join her forever family! Karlye will be such a great big sister and of course it goes without saying she has absolutely fantastic parents!!! Keeping Lucy and all of you in my thoughts and prayers while you wait to bring her home!!! Love Aunt NeNe
